Tales From the Traveling Inn

Legend has it that somewhere in the wilds, there exists an establishment of mystery and wonder. Many have heard of it, yet only a few have been fortunate enough to visit. And, of those who did, only a few returned to spread the tale.

"Tales from the Traveling Inn" is a unique 5th edition module centered around an elusive tavern shrouded in mystery. It can be plugged into your world, used by itself, or even played as its own campaign with the custom adventures we provide. In this case, your players will need to traverse mutated forests, fight strange teleporting creatures, recover a bag of "Definitely NOT Dangerous" alchemical concoctions, and many more! And all that before they arrive at the doorstep of the fabled Traveling Inn, where the true adventure begins!

The Primordial Turtle is a divine creature known for teleporting exactly where it is needed. Riding the inn on its back, the players will have the opportunity to explore a wealth of locations and environments, including distant dimensions, while saving the day every day. They will have to recruit new inhabitants for their inn (alchemist, beast tamer, wandering trader, ...), earn the turtle's approval, and enhance their powers. Because evil always lurks. A powerful wizard and his army of mercenaries are trying to enslave the turtle, their schemes intricate and vile, and the players will need to stop them or die trying.

While "Tales from the Traveling Inn" can be used as a stand-alone module, we have included two custom-made adventures for it, Monkey Bang & Crawlers in the Dark, introducing the players to the inn and taking them from Level 1 to 3. If this project goes well, we plan to add more adventures, expanding into an entire campaign around the inn and its mysterious inhabitants. You will also have the chance to give your opinion on future adventures.

Our primary goal for The Traveling Inn is to create an immersive module which draws the players into the setting through a variety of questlines, while also exploring a vast, rich world in need of heroes. As side-quests during their adventures, the players will be helping a variety of NPC's set up shop in the Inn, and always scrambling to unveil the secrets of the mysterious Primordial Turtle!

Our secondary goal is to allow YOU, the GM, to have the freedom of incorporating your own adventures into the story! After all, it's not called the Traveling Inn for nothing. To accomplish this, we implemented two new mechanics to make it easier for you to utilize one-shot adventures and player backstories while also keeping the players engaged on the main plot.

All in all, our aim is for the Traveling Inn to be the central location of every adventure, while also having its own story to tell!

This project features two introductory adventures to the Traveling Inn. Each of them follows a unique scenario where the players' choices will drastically change the future of the Traveling Inn. Will they kill everything in their path to achieve their goal or show mercy to unexpected creatures? Will they completely derail everything we have prepared for them? Or, will they unveil the mysteries hidden beneath the surface?

Every choice, every decision, every action they take matters. For it is the players who shape the world around the Traveling Inn!
